Roz Macdonald (*1993) is a double bass player and composer from Ayr, Scotland who currently lives in Berlin and Hamburg, She performs regularly on both scenes and well as Europe, in a wealth of different line-ups. She composes regularly for various ensembles, including her own trio, with whom she released her debut album ‘Make Do’ in 2022. Check out the ‘Trio’ section for more.

Roz studied jazz at Leeds College of Music where she received the Yamaha Jazz Scholarship for outstanding musicians upon graduating in 2015. She later studied on the Dr. Langner Jazz Master program at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Whilst doing this she has had the opportunity to play around Europe with some of the top renowned jazz musicians in the world, including Scott Hamilton, Bruce Barth, Perico Sambeat and Chris Cheek.
